On 5 September, the Peace, Justice and Security Foundation in The Hague is organising a gala event with human rights activists, peace, justice and security officials, as well as celebrities from around the world.

To mark the event, Justice Hub is organising an online competition for young bloggers between the ages of 18 – 35 years who come from conflict and post-conflict countries. We are looking for 500-word blogs about peace, justice and security.

You can share your personal experiences, look into the links between peace, justice and security, ask what specific institutions can do to improve the situation in your country or give advice to world leaders.

Be sure to tell a story by making it personal and building your arguments logically. Hook people with a great opening sentence, finish clearly and remember to connect with your audience. Try to avoid legal jargon, and most of all, ensure that the blog is a reflection of you – that it is really your voice. We hope this competition will help give a voice to ordinary young people like you.

The deadline for your entry is 29 August 2016. The Justice Hub team looks forward to reading your blog. The winner, who will receive a cash prize of 200 euros, will be picked by Victor Ochen, the UN Global Ambassador for Peace and Justice (SDG 16) and executive director of AYINET. The two runners-up will receive 60 euros each. All three blogs will be published on the Justice Hub website.

Please send your entries to: contact@justicehub.org.

Justice Hub

Justice Hub is an online platform aimed at a worldwide audience of 18-35 year olds, especially in countries where people are looking for sustainable and innovative solutions to problems of justice, peace and security. Justice can feel too abstract, too often owned by experts. We make the conversations lively and accessible.
