The popular Ivorian youth leader Charles Blé Goudé appeared before the International Criminal Court on September 29. The pre-trial was closely followed by people in Ivory Coast.
Blé Goudé is suspected of playing an important role in the post-election violence of 2010-2011. He’s accused of inciting young supporters of former president Laurent Gbagbo to attack supporters of the other candidate, the current president Alassane Ouattara.
Gbagbo’s trial starts in July 2015. The trial against Blé Goudé has also been confirmed, but the trial date has yet to be announced.
