The second in a two-part comic strip about one of the victims of the post-election violence in Ivory Coast in 2010 and 2011. Amadou Tall was abdcuted and beaten by soldiers of the then president Laurent Gbagbo after a demonstration in support of the current Ivorian president, Alassane Outtara.
Tall’s story was initially published by our French-language sister site, Ivoire Justice, on 30 March 2013. Ivoire Justice commissioned two comic strips by well-known Ivorian cartoonist, Roland Polman, to illustrate the stories of two Ivorians who suffered during the post-election crisis.
They are being published in the lead-up to the start of the trial at the International Criminal Court of Gbagbo and Ivorian youth leader Charles Blé Goudé. The two men are accused of crimes against humanity, including murder, rape, other inhumane acts or – in the alternative – attempted murder and persecution. Their trial is due to begin on 10 November 2015.
Justice Hub published the first part of this comic strip last week.
